Wild Cards! – Aug 24, 2015

Krazy Pic(s)  I think I should be confused here, but I’m somehow strangely comforted.  What do you think?  See KrazyPic 15-19.  As a bonus this week, I share a picture taken by my subscriber/cousin and her family.  Do you suppose this was the work of a drunk hunter?  See KrPic 15-20.

Cartoon(s) of the Week  Slightly different flavor this week.  Influenced by Snoopy’s foray into theology last week, I decided to try to find similar cartoons on philosophy.  What I found is labeled a ‘cartoon’, but it expresses the existential dilemma of my whole adult life! 🙂  See Dilemma.  And as another bonus, a look at Acceptance that made me grin.

Brain Teasers – Updates and New!  You’ve only got until Thursday of this week (8/27) to finish this month’s BTs.  I’ve already had FIVE submissions, with lots of correct answers.  To make things even more fun, I’ll add three new BTs, so have a look!  BT 15-12A.  And don’t forget the FlexibilityofThinking exercises.  I had several folks help me with #13 – all suggesting the same thing – THANKS.  And one person has submitted suggestions for all but 2 or 3 of them!

Ain’t It The Truth?!  In these mailings, I try to stay as far away from politics or religion as I can.  But an old high school friend sent me this list of “Apolitcal Aphorisms” that will make both sides of the aisle nod in agreement.  Quotes come from the likes of Harry Truman, Will Rogers, Aesop, and Jay Leno, among several others!  Find your own favorite.  See ApolitcalAphorisms, and be prepared to laugh.

Partial Repeat We actually featured two of these almost exactly a year ago, but when I used these on Sunday’s radio show, I found a 3rd one to go with it, and we have new subscribers since then, too.  So . . . All 3 quotes were made within about a decade’s time and show how things change!!  From the NotSoEnlightened department, see these 3 crazy remarks!

Guest Voices Two straight weeks of Guest Voice features ahead of us!   Next week (5th Monday), we will feature Anita Dixon.  Her Voice is entitled A Little Bird Misses the Forest for the Trees. Well written and touching, you’ll really like this one.  The following week (1st Monday) will feature Deborah Stacey from the Canadian Northwest.  More on her piece next week (think horses and math :-)).   To see an archive of Guest Voice related pieces, see GuestVoiceArchive.

Aftermath Adventures (Radio) Interesting interview last week (Sunday) with Jacqueline Wolven, national speaker, consultant, and blogger from Eureka Springs.  This coming week:  Sony Hocklander from the Springfield News Leader.   For more information and/or podcasts of previous shows, visit AftermathAdventures.
