Monument Valley

Situated on the Arizona/Utah border, this amazing region is incredibly beautiful and majestic.  (For size/distance perspective, note the Valley Road with vehicles in the foreground.)  Taken in May 2013, on a beautiful day punctuated by white cumulus clouds,  I was delighted when the center sandstone butte fell under the shadow of one of the clouds!  (For both starry-night and sunrise views of the same scene, see Monument Valley.Night.Sunrise )
