Puzzlers VI & VII – Solutions

PUZZLER VI:

What Error is in This Picture? 

(You may ignore the 0:10 ‘timer’ embedded in the shot.)

SOLUTION:

There were a few believable ‘errors’ suggested for this one, but all submitters also included the ‘obvious’ one, namely that June does not have 31 days, as suggested on the calendar in the picture.

 

BONUS PUZZLER(s) for DECEMBER – PUZZLER VII

Here are a couple of arithmetic puzzlers to tide us over until January.  Solve EITHER or BOTH and send along your solutions.  (Sorry – one of the images disappeared, and can’t seem to be re-found.)

Solve this equation it only it is an easy one give a try

SOLUTION:

The correct answer is C) 25.  These ‘order of operations’ problems often give folks fits.  In this one, there is only one operation (division) involved, so the steps are performed in order, from left to right:  1/5 divided by 1/5 = 1.  1 divided by 1/5 = 5.  And finally 5 divided by 1/5 = 25.
