CoVid19 Thoughts #1 (Serious)

“These are the times that try men’s souls.”

When Thomas Paine wrote those words in Common Sense in 1776, he could not have known how applicable they would suddenly seem today, almost 250 years later, in an entirely different setting.  Our country (and the world) are in for a rough spell, to put it mildly.  And, as is painfully obvious, there is nothing much we can do except ‘keep on keeping on’, as wisely and healthfully and consciously as we can.

Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Please err on the side of over-reacting and follow all the recommendations we get from (legitimate) health experts.  Be wise,  Be careful.  It only makes sense for each of you (and for all of us).  I wish ongoing good health for all of you.

As for Pat and me:  The bad news is we are firmly in the ‘wrong’ age bracket for these circumstances.  The good news is that this same age bracket also means we are retired and have the freedom to practice the protection of increased isolation, which we have been doing to a point of that’s seeming less drastic every day.

Our hearts go out to all of us. For a beautiful prose poem of hope & inspiration, be sure to catch And The People Stayed Home in the Wild Cards section below.
