Krazy Pic 1 I suspect this sign doesn’t read exactly like they think it does. But I wonder if their sales figures showed an increase?
Krazy Pic 2 Here’s an interesting question: How many ways can you mis-spell a four-letter word?
Cartoon of the Week What a mystery life is! This is illustrated in yet another way by one of the very first Peanuts cartoons.
Curiosity of the Week In the last Mailing, there was a BONUS Puzzler that asked who was the only President arrested for speeding. The answer is US Grant, who in 1872, was arrested when his horse-drawn carriage (he was not on horseback himself as I mistakenly thought) was speeding two days in a row! This background story from the Smithsonian is fascinating. My favorite part is that Grant insisted that no action be taken against the policeman, who he admired for doing his duty! (My how times have changed!)
Amazing Location of the Week “The world’s loneliest house?” This hunting lodge on an uninhabited island south of Iceland, not only makes a great picture, but has an interesting story. See a great picture here, and the background and other details here.
Previous Pesky Puzzlers Last time, we featured a choice of three ‘regular’ puzzlers and a fun Bonus (President getting a speeding ticket on a horse?!). The answer to the Bonus is featured in the Curiosity above. Frank Green, Rita Barger, and Amy Ragsdale all submitted correct answers to at least two of the three other puzzlers. To see any of these solutions, visit Pesky Puzzlers summaries.
Pesky Puzzler 24.14 (New) Once again, you have a choice of three from which to choose. And this time, they’re all repeats from 2020. If you’ve been a subscriber that long, you may even remember answers?! See PP 24.14.
