Wild Cards – Nov 14, 2022

Krazy Pic 1  I guess maybe I see what happened here, but at first glance, this doesn’t seem terribly helpful.

Krazy Pic 2  Technically, this may not be a “Krazy Pic”, but unfortunately, these statements are SO ME. 🙁

Christmas Sale  Time (past time?) to be shopping for Christmas – and BOOKS are always safe and excellent gifts!!  To help you along, I’ve decided to take September’s “Free Book” sale and make it even better!!  Even more options, but just as easy to enjoy:   Buy Books, Get Books Free!

OUCH!  In today’s times we do not need more folks insulting each other.  But these are so over-the-top and funny, we can make an exception.  🙂  Here are FOUR of history’s most savage insults.

Amazing Location of the Week  OK, I’m aware I’m again crossing the line into Amazing Architecture here, but it can’t be helped.  🙂  I find myself – as a book lover – shamefully envious (is there anything in Exodus about coveting another man’s office?)  This is the office of Canadian anthropologist Wade Davis.  (Here’s more about Wade Davis, also Explorer in Residence at National Geographic Society – interesting!)

Brain Teasers  We’re now up to 12 BTs and 4 Bonuses!! I think you’ll like the new collection!  Need more submissions – dive in!!

Halloween Pranks and Giving of Thanks I found this first one (as always!) while looking for something else. It was an ‘odds and ends’ column with a Halloween excerpt.  I wish I’d have included it last time (on 10/31!).  So I’ll toss it in now:  Halloween Pranks (Excerpt).  And, looking ahead to Thanksgiving, here’s a column item we ALL need to give more thanks for – our teachers!!  Here’s to the Teachers!!  (Editorial note:  This column, written 5 years ago, does not reflect the recent national debates about dictating/banning what content teachers teach.  Factoring that into the equation makes the whole situation even more tragic.)

Quote for the Week

It’s the person who likes to pat dogs to whom dogs come for pats.

Arthur Gordon, A Touch of Wonder

Fun Quote for the Week
