The Amazing Vigil of Shep the Dog One of Fort Benton, MT’s more famous residents, and another interesting story from the River. This dog met each of 4 trains daily for over 5 years, watching for his master’s return! See pictures, including a plaque with more details: Shep
Krazy Pic Not quite the ‘usual’ Krazy Pic, but I laughed out loud when I saw it, and had to confess it’s true! Ironic, isn’t it?See Punishments?
Halloween Cartoon There’s not another mailing until after Halloween, so we need to celebrate, eh? I love Foxtrot’s subtle humor!! See Halloween
More About the the Bridges? There’s much more interesting history & details about the twin bridges mentioned above. For more info on them (including the unique tunnel built with the Fairview) see Snowden and/or Fairview.
Dawt Mill Last week, Pat and I spent a lazy Sunday afternoon at an old ‘river haunt’, Dawt Mill, on the North Fork River, near Tecumseh, MO. Beautiful place, gorgeous day (almost went floating!). Now I want to return when the leaves are more colorful! For some scenes of and around the mill, see Dawt.
The Miss Perception Pageant My latest column in the Springfield News Leader focused on an interesting mis-perception of math and science. It also includes an old conversation/interview with Pat, which still has me laughing! See Pageant.
