Monstrous (Man-Eating?) Spider Web – in Missouri!! Ran into this on a national news website! A spider web large enough to trap humans?!? Near Springfield, MO!!
Speaking of Spider Webs . . . I was grabbed (not literally!) by the story above, partly due to the size of the web and the nearness to us, but also because I know how stinkin’ hard it is to get a good photo of a spider web! My attempts over the years have met with very few successes. Here are some I can live with.

Update: Gary the Groundhog Perhaps you remember from last time the Groundhog who was cleaning up under my birdfeeder? He has gotten much bolder and now frequently shows up once or even twice a day!! This has allowed me to get some better pictures! (I’ve un-imaginatively named him Gary. Surely there’s a better name! – OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS!**)
