Wild Cards! – April 15, 2024

Krazy Pic 1  A clever re-purposing, I suppose.  But I hope they remembered to back the car out first!

Krazy Pic 2  Today’s message board appears to ask the proverbial question “What’s a synonym for synonym?

Here Comes Aunt Edna!!  A regular feature back in the early days, this is still a reader favorite when she re-appears!  Today, we repeat one of her previously-shared quotes from almost 8 years ago, and we also add two NEW (never-before shared) quotes. We love you, Aunt Edna! (Should we bring her back once a month or so?)  (Remember, she is ‘real’, as explained in the link.)

Cartoon of the Week  Many of you know my fondness for the off-the-wall humor of HERMAN.  This my be one of the reasons I can’t lobby my wife for a dog!  (This may be a re-run, but if so, enjoy it again!)

Curiosity of the Week  This one surprised me, and I’m guessing it might surprise you as well.  Which country has the most pyramids in the world?

New Special Days in ’24!  Thanks to Amy Ragsdale and her husband Darrell we have a new string of special math dates to add to the list shared last time.  And you can celebrate THIS MONTH!!  Can you guess?  (Hint:  The string starts on April 20 and runs for 10 days, and we have a string similar to this every year in this decade.)  Here’s the list again, and check out the NEW #5 for the addition!!  Thanks, Amy & Darrell!

Pesky Puzzler 24.6 Solution  My brilliant plan didn’t work. (So, what else is new?) Alas, I couldn’t get any more interest/response even with an old (easy?) classic.   (Rita Barger and Amy Ragsdale sent in solutions, as they each often do.)  Two US coins with total value of 35 cents, but one is not a dime?  Solution:  One is not a dime, but the other is!  One dime and a quarter.

Pesky Puzzler 24.7  Undaunted by the [lack of] results above, I’ll plod forward.  This week’s Puzzler involves a man, his cattle, and his sons.  I’m sure some of you will be interested.  (He says with uncalled-for confidence.)
