Wild Card!! April 27, 2015

*NOTE*
The Wild Card Feature will take a short vacation during May, and will return in June.  For more information on this and other May changes, see Mailing Changes in May.  For information on the GUEST VOICE features for May, see the section below the Wild Cards.

Cartoon of the Week  I keep being drawn back to Herman and The Far Side.  What does this say about my sense of humor?  A bonus today: one of each!  See Herman (a new one for me) and/or The Far Side (a classic and one of my favorites!).

Krazy Pic Why do so many of these Krazy Pics involve road signs?!??  Here’s another one, and let’s just say that it would be VERY hard to disobey this sign!  See Krazy Pic 15-6.

May Birthdays  We won’t have a chance to do this in May, so we’ll do it today.  Here are the (known) subscriber birthdays in May:  May Birthdays.

More on Eddington For more details on Sir Arthur Eddington (featured in the Math Tidbit above), see Arthur Eddington.

WOW!  Subscriber (and step-brother) Jim Waterman suddenly got interested in the Creativity Challenge from earlier this month and went crazy!  Not only did he submit a paragraph without the letter ‘a’ in it, but he went a step further!  He created a verse that does not have the letter ‘o’ anywhere, but does have every other letter in the alphabet!!  Nice going, Jim!  To see his creations, visit Jim’s Creations.  (Any others out there??)

The Power of Punctuation!   Roughly along those same lines, subscriber Anita Dixon shared this marvelous t-shirt she saw in the Springfield airport. Good for a real laugh!  See Punctuation Saves Lives.  ( This becomes even funnier when you realize that Anita does the bulk of the proofreading for the Weekly Mailings.)

Cheryl’s BD Mega-BT  There was considerable interest in (at least reading :-)) the “Cheryl’s BD Problem” MEGA Brain Teaser last week.  Subscribers Don Austin and Anita Dixon even had correct solutions!  We will re-visit this problem down the road.  In the meantime, you may see it again at Cheryl’s BD Problem.  Any other solvers?

Last Reminder About May  You should have received a note last week about the May changes in the Weekly Photo/Sharing mailings.  [And hopefully you read it. :-)]  And, see the NOTE at the start of this section.  I know it’s redundant, but for a 3rd chance at a review of those changes, see Changes in May.  Also see DIRECTLY BELOW for a preview of the Guest Voices coming in May!  Don’t miss these!!
