The Strokkur Geyser – Iceland
Erupting every 8 minutes, this geyser is perhaps the most dramatic sight in the Geysir Hot Spring Geothermal Area in Haukadalur Valley of Iceland – about an hour’s drive east of Reykjavik, the capital. But it is not the only fascinating feature of this area, featuring another even-larger-but-much-less-active geysir, lots of geothermal pools, scenery, and more. For a look at more see the Amazing Location of the Week in the Wild Cards below. Taken on August 28, 2023.
