River Rollin’ Rerun 2017 – Occasional Blogs From the River

Shortest River in the World?
In Great Falls, MT, the Roe River bubbles out of Giant Springs and flows roughly 200 feet into the Missouri River. I missed this last year, so I was determined to see it this trip!! In the picture above, taken just above the Springs on Aug 7, one can see all the way ‘downriver’ to the Missouri in the background! The interpretive signs claim it’s ‘one of the shortest rivers’ in the country flowing into the longest. For more interesting pictures and more information on the Springs & the river, including a description from William Clark’s journal, see RoeRiver.GreatFalls
Back Home in Branson – for Awhile
I completed Part I of River Rollin’ Rerun 2017 this past Thursday 8/17. Great trip!! I’ll head out for Part II (focusing on the Dakotas this time) in October, with LOTS to do in September! Among other things, watch for LOTS more updates on the Big Book Launch over the next two weeks!! Hope to see some of you there! There will also be opportunities to help the Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks, whether you can attend or not!
Another abbreviated mailing this week – the whole family is/was in Columbia, MO to celebrate a 40th birthday (our youngest! 🙁 ) and watch the eclipse. Have a good week!
