Shortest River in the World?
In Great Falls, Montana, the Roe River bubbles out of Giant Springs and flows roughly 200 feet into the Missouri River. I had somehow missed this on my big 2016 adventure, so I was determined to see it when Pat and I returned in 2017!! (Many of you saw it back then also, as part of one of my River Blogs.) In the picture above, taken just above the Springs on Aug 7, 2017, one can see all the way ‘downriver’ to the Missouri in the background! The interpretive signs claim it’s ‘one of the shortest rivers’ in the country flowing into the longest. For more interesting pictures and more information on the Springs & the river, including a description from William Clark’s journal, see RoeRiver.GreatFalls

Don’t forget that you can see this – and other incredible sites and sights – in person when we return to the Montana part of the River in August 2019!! For more information, see MoRiverMt.19 – we’d LOVE to have you join us!! For more questions, respond to this e-mail or use the Contact Form.
