Gavins Point Dam – outside of Yankton, SD
Straddling the border of Nebraska and South Dakota, this is the last (most downstream) of the 15 dams on the Missouri River. The Dam is also considered the unofficial dividing point of the ‘upper’ and ‘lower’ parts of the River. I missed this landmark in 2016, but got to visit on my recent trip. Taken on (a gloomy, chilly) Oct 2, 2018.
