Brain Teasers 15-10

1.  Loaded Questions, Part 1.  (more in future BTs)  These are not as easy as they look.  Think twice.

a.   Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden for eating what fruit?

b.   How many of each animal did Moses take onto the Ark?

c.  What was the highest title Julius Caesar acquired:  king, emperor, dictator, or consul?

d.   Does England have a 4th of July?

2.  Find the next two numbers in this sequence:  2, 3, 5, 9, 17, ___, ___.  (Multiple ‘correct’ answers here?)
3.  If a couple plans to have four children, which is more probable:  a) 2 boys, 2 girls, or b) 3 of one sex, 1 of the other?
4.  See #3 above.  How likely is it the couple’s children will all 4 be of the same sex?

  1. Larry,
I’m going to attempt a few of these BTs:
#1(b) – It was Noah, not Moses, that took the animals on the ark.
#1(d) – Every country has a 4th day in July (although not necessarily celebrated as a holiday)
#2 – The next 2 numbers after 17 may be 33 and 65 if the pattern is adding sequential powers of 2.

    1. Hooray, Amy! Glad to have your submissions. I have ‘approved’ (posted) your Comment, but can’t comment on the correctness of answers yet, as there is still time for others to submit also.
Readers: We have THREE sets of answers submitted already this week – feel free to join in!
