BT #2:  The King and His Subjects

It was late and the King was tired.  There were two subjects remaining to see him, so he had them sent in together.  The first was the Royal Alchemist, who claimed to have invented the ultimate weapon – a liquid that would dissolve anything it touched.  The second was the Royal Coin Collector, who was pleased to report he had uncovered a rare coin dated 55 B.C. to add to the palace collection.

Each of these employees wanted a raise in their salaries for their special discoveries. Instead, the wise king laughed and instantly fired them both.  Why?

Submit an Answer!  There are NO tests and the answers are NOT graded, so lighten up!  🙂  But if the Brain Teaser challenges you and is fun,  and you want to submit your answer, PLEASE feel free to do so!!  You can do this 3 ways:  1)  Use the Leave A Reply section below (which all can see :-)),  2) reply to me individually by e-mail or 3) by using the Contact Form link.   Except for using Leave a Reply, your anonymity is protected! 🙂

Next time around, I will share [for EACH question above] # of submissions (without names :-)), correct submissions (with names), and FIRST correct submission.

BT #1:  Horsing Around

A man buys a horse for $60, sells it for $70, buys it back for $80, and then sells it again for $90.  Did the man make money, lose money, or break even on the series of transactions?  And, if you’re not voting ‘broke even’, how much did he make/lose?

From the prices here, this is clearly an OLD Brain Teaser!  I’ve used it for decades.  🙂
