Wild Cards! – 12/1/14

0.  Cyber December?  Today is typically Cyber Monday.  We will celebrate with a Cyber December sale throughout December.  Unfortunately, the ‘free shipping’ discount from November is expired, but it will be replaced by a ‘10% off’ Christmas sale!  All of last month’s Christmas suggestion items will be 10% off all month.  Visit Christmas Suggestions 2014.

1.  Education Thought for the Week  Here’s a provocative thought:  In terms of education, it seems that the more valuable we find a skill or attribute, the harder it is to measure, at least precisely; and conversely, the easier something is to measure precisely (especially with standardized tests) the less valuable it actually is!  For some elaboration on these thoughts, see Measurable or Meaningful?

2.  More Penny Lane (See Photo of the Week)  If you are interested in seeing the “Lane” of Penny Lane, follow this link:  Penny Lane 2

3.  Brain Teasers, with an appearance by Santa  A few more not-too-hard mental exercises, with a final ‘grade-school-corny’ collection, featuring a Santa theme.  See Brain Teasers #10.

4.  The Ramifications of Death? 🙂  Time for another visit to the 365 Stupidest Things Ever Said calendar.  Guests this week are hockey player Phil Watson, and singer Cyndi Lauper.

5.  MORE Words Women Use Here are the remaining items on the list we started last week.  See Words Women Use II

5.5  Suggestions?  Still looking for more subscriber suggestions to add the the list above.  And, we still need more suggestions to add tomy (pathetic?) start for the Words Men Use list.  [To see that, click Words Men Use.] Come on, creative folks!!

6.  Change for a million?!  The theme is Unusual Stupidity/Unusual Genius.  (The first one could also fit in a “Stupid Criminals” list . . . Go Big or Go Home.)  See Fantastic Facts 7.
