Wild Cards! – Sep 6, 2021

Krazy Pic 1  I can hear it now, “Honey, did you refill the soap dispenser?”  I want to hear his answer!  🙂

Krazy Pic 2  Somehow, one gets the feeling that there’s been confusion on this before.

Cartoon of the Week  I suspect I’ve mentioned my growing affinity for the ZITS comic strip.  Here, a teenager learns a valuable lesson (It takes a few seconds to load.)

Amazing ‘Rainbow Bird’!  This popped up on a FB page this past week, and I was just blown away!!  We’ve all seen colorful birds (painted buntings, perhaps?), but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one with every color of the rainbow (plus white and black), from head to toe!!  This one is just breathtakingly beautiful to me.

Old BTs: Solutions and Solvers  Here is the Summary of all the Solutions and Solvers from the last set of BTs (Jul/Aug)

New BTs: Sep/Oct  Three new Brain Teasers to start us off (including one designed for a new set of subscribers!), and one Bonus.  The fun begins again – grab a pencil and join in!

Pluto, Scientists, . . . and the Arts?!  ( ‘sabbatical’ from my column-writing extends another month – still not sure what’s ahead. In the meantime, I’ll continue to share some previous columns from the archives.)  After NASA’s Pluto fly-by (6 years ago?!), some comments from a columnist that I don’t always agree with led to these thoughts (surprisingly?) on the importance of the arts, as well as the sciences.

Quote for the Week

Dying is easy, young man . . . living is harder.

George Washington to Alexander Hamilton in the musical Hamilton (I can hear the cadence!)
