KrazyPic1 Is this what they call self-referential?

KrazyPic2  I love it when the rules are easy to follow!

Cartoon of the week Remember Sally’s unrequited love for her ‘sweet babboo’ Linus? Or Charlie Brown’s adoration of ‘the little red-headed girl’?  Or his despair at never receiving any valentines.  Only Peanuts can capture so many of the emotions of  Sunday’s Valentine’s Day so well.  A three-in-one bonus!!

Tao Porchon-Lynch – The marvelous story behind the ‘gal in the picture’!!  Last time I passed along a collection of funny observations about aging.  Toward the bottom was the picture of a delightful ‘young/old woman’ that I noticed in passing. A longtime subscriber Christine Porter noticed her immediately, wondered about her, and noted “Her inner and outer radiance is incredible and inspiring!”    A brand new subscriber, Andrea Miller not only supplied her name, but also the fact that she had been the world’s oldest yoga teacher before she recently passed away.  WHAT AN AMAZING GAL!!  Click here to see last Mailing’s picture (that started it all) again, To learn more about Tao Porchon-Lynch, world’s oldest yoga teacher, see Tao Porchon Lynch1 and/or Tao Porchon-Lynch2.

Join the Fun?! The February Fun with Learning Adventures have just started, but you could still participate! (Despite a minor hiccup or two, the early returns were good!) There are video links to EACH of the first two ‘classes’ you could watch, and if you like them, you could jump in the for the last three sessions!  If you’re interested, you could respond directly to this e-mail  or use this Registration Form and we’ll get you caught up and on board!  We’re having fun!  (Visit Mo River Magic and/or Fun With Math to review the topics.)

Brain Teasers  I had added 3 more BTs for this time, but stumbled onto another one that I give my Fun With Math class, so I’ve added it here, too. So now you have a Baker’s Dozen!!  🙂  And 1 new Bonus, also!!

Can Mathematicians Speak English? 🙂  Discovery of an years-old column revealed two fun and still-interesting quotes.  One captures a vision for math classrooms, and the other begs the question ‘can mathematicians speak English? ‘ Last week’s News-Leader column.

Quote for the Week

All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.
