
The (True) Headwaters of the Missouri River – Hell Roaring Creek
Due to the way Lewis and Clark named the tributaries there, the Missouri River officially begins in Three Forks, MT roughly 100 miles away. But it is generally agreed Brower Springs (about halfway up Mt. Jefferson in the background) is the location of the real source.
