Cartoon of the Week Calvin & Hobbes debuted on Nov 18, 1985, so the 30th anniversary will be Wednesday. To celebrate, here is the very first Calvin and Hobbes on 11/18/85: FirstC&H. And, as a bonus, here was the LATEST C & H (as this was written): C&HNov10.
Krazy Pic This is either a clever trick, or the most interesting way to give permission, ever! See KrPic15-30.
Brilliant Idea! I LOVE this!! Why didn’t we think of this sooner?!? See LongLines.
Iquazu Falls This video clip was shared by subscriber Sandy Hall (who I think shot the video!). It is of Iquazu Falls, on the border of Argentina and Brazil. One of the new 7 Wonders of the World. To be able to see the video, see IquazuFalls.
November Brain Teasers Three more BTs this week, mixing logic and arithmetic. No heavy math 🙂 See NovBTs. ALSO – We’re still looking for more subscriber-submitted BTs!! Will everyone let Mike Brown win the drawing by default??
Friday the 13th!! This past Friday may have been a Friday the 13th, but it was a GREAT day for number patterns. In the first place, it was one of THREE ‘twin prime’ days* each year. (What are the other two? :-)) AND, it was the last time this century (!!) that we had three consecutive odd numbers for a date. [I was reminded of this by Kathy Mazi, subscriber – I had somehow missed it!] If you’re interested in other ‘special’ days (past & future) during 2015, you can re-visit SpecialDates15,
*Day & month are consecutive odd primes.
