Happy New Year 2026 Wishes Gifs, Messages, Animated GIFs, Quotes, Greetings, and Status

Krazy Pic 1  Are you making New Year’s Resolutions?  This could be a reminder or a temptation!

Krazy Pic 2  I’m definitely not a ‘handyman’, but this seems to be a fair caveat.

Cartoon of the Week  I wanted a cartoon dealing with New Year celebration or resolutions or . . . But alas – long story – technical problems interfered.  So here’s another fun one I’ve been saving:  Noah’s unexpected problem.

Curiosity of the Week  Here’s a challenge for some of today’s politicians.  One of our founding fathers – Thomas McKean – had quite the political workload!  (I got curious about this and did some checking.  I think my source [Ripley’s] may have exaggerated a little, but the it’s still amazing!  See more details here.)

2025 Curiosities We are starting a new year’s worth of ‘Curiosities’, with the tidbit above.  Here’s your chance to get one last look at (most of) the tidbits from 2025.

Guest Voice  Back in November, I attended an Author’s Event at the Columbia, MO library.  I met a lot of interesting and creative folks.  One of them was my ‘neighbor’ at the next table.  Cass Donish teaches poetry and creative writing at MU, and, in 2018, was the winner of the prestigious Iowa Poetry Prize.  Cass writes fairly lengthy poems, but the opening stanza of one of them struck me as possibly being able to stand alone enough to be shared.  I asked and received permission to share it that way, so I’ve included it, along with more information about Cass.  The Poem is entitled Portrait of a Woman, Mid Fall.

Pesky Puzzlers  Ack!  I discovered a bad typo on the Puzzlers for last time, so I’m listing that  (corrected) one again this time.  See this first set of 2026 Puzzlers, and solutions for last time. For those who’d like a last look back, here are (most of) the 2025 Puzzlers and solutions.
